Himani Chamunda, Kangra



Himani Chamunda is a Hindu temple dedicated to Chamunda, situated at the height of 2900 meters in Kangra Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India, in the Lap of Himalayas.This temple is one of ancient temple of Goddess Chamunda its 16th century temple, built using woods & stones.The main attraction of this trek is visitor can enjoy the spectacular view of Dhauladhar ranges as well as view of whole Kangra valley.This trek is one of easiest and short trek you can also complete this in one day.Its around 10 km trek from base that is  Jiya village.If you want to choose one more easiest way to reach then you can approach via the Jadrangal village, which is just a 10-15 minute walk from the new Chamunda temple close by the main road.Who love trekking, thikc forest & adventures they can choose approach the trek via Jiya Village.There is no modern amenities anywhere close to temple there is only temple and you can pitch your tents near temples.Best time to visit here is April’15 and November’15 you can also visit here off time but temple priest wouldn’t stay here after after November 15.

Visitor can enjoy the nearby famous places like Pong Dam, Dharmshala cricket stadium, McLeod Ganj, Tibetan monasteries etc.Famous Shakti peeth Chamunda temple, is different from this temple.From this temple you can also view the Talang and Toral mountain passes.Other side of mountain there is Chamba Gaddis mostly used to reach on their destination vie crossing mountain which if full of adventure.
